Flock of Redpolls in the silver birch tree outside my bedroom window. smile

You can never have too much parsley in the back yard.
A tip form gardener's question time - it grows much better from fresh seed from a plant than from packet seed. Just let it set seed and scatter them about.

And so tasty. I have a recipe somewhere for parsley soup.

Butternut Mon 13-Feb-12 19:44:09

I love parsley - such an accommodating herb!

JessM Mon 13-Feb-12 16:43:21

Snow has melted and given us back the colour green!
Let's have a round of applause for parsley please. It can get covered in snow and assaulted by hard frost and then just defrost itself and carry on parsleying. smile
I picked a big bunch through the snow and incorporated it into lasgne.

Sorry you're having a rough time Butternut. I hope it all works out well. My sister has had some reconstructive surgery with the maxillofacial unit for similar reasons and we are all pleasantly surprised at the lack of signs of invasion and the way the surgeon has used her facial contours to choose where incisions are made - very impressive. thanks

Lots of love, Butter xxxxxxx

Seventimesfive Mon 13-Feb-12 14:45:06

Best wishes and ((hugs)) to you Butter. Hope all goes well.

supernana Mon 13-Feb-12 11:23:13

Dearest Butter lovely warm hugs coming your way. Take extra special care of yourself. xxx

Butternut Sun 12-Feb-12 20:16:17

Thanks bagitha Annobel and Ariande - really appreciate your concerns. x

Butternut Sun 12-Feb-12 20:13:07

grin Jess.
Fortunately, I have very blond (grey?) eyebrows, so they have never figured so to speak. I also wear glasses, so when I buy some new ones (soon!) I'll certainly be looking at coverage.
There's always an upside.... smile

JessM Sun 12-Feb-12 19:53:19

Plastics are indeed fantastic, but eyebrows might be a challenge. It is very strange isn't it how hair grows differently in different parts of the body.
Did you ever see that Billy Connolly pube sketch? Imagine his accent inside your head:
"Wouldn't it be strange if you pubes just kept on growing? You could comb them (actions at this point) and use johoba sham*poo*"
Planning to cultivate a fringe by wedding?

Annobel Sun 12-Feb-12 19:12:49

Butty, I feel for you. Good luck with the next round of treatment. (((hug)))

Ariadne Sun 12-Feb-12 19:10:41

butty xxxx

bagitha Sun 12-Feb-12 19:07:05

Hugs, butty. I had missed you this weekend. Thank goodness for modern surgery. xx

Butternut Sun 12-Feb-12 19:02:26

Next week Jess - probably losing half an eyebrow. Plastics are good these days I believe. Ever hopeful grin. Eye is fine thankfully.

Butternut Sun 12-Feb-12 18:46:17

I will, jeni - thanks. I shall just have to accept an even more characterful
face. grin
Hoping scars and things will heal well before big family wedding in June! Thank goodness for sunglasses.

JessM Sun 12-Feb-12 18:44:30

Oh poor you butternut what a pain. And it is all frozen and grey, doesn't help.
When are you back with the docs?

jeni Sun 12-Feb-12 18:24:12

Lovely though. Hope you feel better soon.

Butternut Sun 12-Feb-12 18:20:38

Sitting here and looking out
The snow washed apricot glow
Brings relief to the monochrome landscape
Of a cruel, bleak dusk-sky
That calls of another hard, deep cold night
With silence.

Rest
And dreams of hopes will come
Soon.

(Sorry to be glum, facial x-rays and further excision required - a bit tired.)

supernana Fri 10-Feb-12 13:31:40

gracesmum It is for the good of the tribe of feral cats that live deep in the forest. Since we've been feeding Mother cat, she's had two sets of kits. At the going rate, it won't be too long before we'll be overwhelmed by Rory's progeny. After all, he's an exceedingly fine fella wink

jeni Fri 10-Feb-12 13:15:54

That's what I meant to type. Back to humpy dumpy again.

Annobel Fri 10-Feb-12 13:14:23

"The best laid plans o' mice and men
Gang aft agley."

supernana Fri 10-Feb-12 13:06:42

jeni that made me grin

gracesmum Fri 10-Feb-12 13:06:27

They can tell you know. The difference between going in the car because we're going for a walk in Salcey Forest and going in the car because we're off to the vet's - Grace knows EXACTLY what's what.
Can fool her about the k****l place though as that's in Salcey Forest !
Good luck - can you actually blame the cat??? grin

jeni Fri 10-Feb-12 13:04:56

What is that saying ' many a plan of mice and men gang oft agley?'smile
