Gardening for idiots!

Can anyone recommend a book for a novice gardener? I can't tell a weed from a flower so something very basic would be ideal. I have never had to do gardening in the past but can see the garden becoming a wilderness in the Spring if I don't do something!

Barrow I don't know if you can still get it but I bought my lovely dad "Adam the Gardener" yrs ago and he found it very helpful and easy to follow, have a look in your local library and see if they have it for you.

There's How to Be a Gardener: Back to Basics by Alan Titchmarsh that's supposed to be rather good for beginners.

I would recommend 'Complete Book of Gardening' by Alan Titchmarsh or 'Year in Your Garden' by Geoff Hamilton....not sure if they're still in print though. You might get hold of an old copy though.
