First daisy flower of the year! I know it's a long time till spring proper yet, but it's a sign. It's a SIGN, I tell you!
(Colder temperatures expected tomorrow)
Hey ho.
It's cold and wet and snowy and we haven't got any frogspawn
Sycamore and hawthorn budbursts today – just.
Bluebell leaves pushing through – just.
Daffodils nearly flowering.
Snowflakes blowing through on the NE gale all day.
Snow on the hills.
Masses of frogspawn (twelve more frogs since the heron's visit).
A confused spring – nothing new then
Anno & ogm -
Galen Less of the old, please
If it gets too cold it's the survival of the fittest luckiest. Those near the top die - those underneath survive.....usually.
Galen probably extra randy frogs!
Butty... lovely poem... walked up the combe at Hestercombe yesterday and there they were, just as you described them !
Well, she managed it! The straggly weed has gone and so has Mrs Blackbird. The mind boggles!
. Perhaps it's her first time at nest building!
I drew back the curtains this morning and watched a female blackbird busily trying to drag a 5 ft long straggly weed through the picket fence from next door's garden. She's still tryimg 10 minutes later, poor thing. She must be planning a large family this year!
Beautiful poem, Butty It depicts perfectly the wild daffodils that are growing by the little stream in the woods near my house.
Bluebells are clumped and preparing to take over when the daffodils fade away. I love spring!
Yes, it is
Butty your poem is beautiful.
Butty...and today the scene is just as lovely but the sea is slightly skittish...
Have added today's calm and beautiful scene in my pics. Enjoy
