Like thousands of other people I have a slug problem. I could have cried the other day. I planted some lovely white African Marigolds. They loved them!!!
I have been doing a lot of reading about the little ( sometimes huge) buggers and I've found, Nematodes. Have any of you used them, and how did it go.
Also, have any of you found plants they DONT LIKE.

Petra, they are currently decimating our strawberries. I washed so many out of the small crop I picked for our dessert last night, it almost put me off eating them, because I feared I had missed some tiny ones. Yuk.

I wish they liked the avens, goose grass and mare's tail that infest my garden. My best definition of a weed: a plant that snails and slugs don't like. However, seriously, there are herbs that they appear to leave well alone - fennel, lovage, borage, for example. They seem to use marjoram as a safe hiding place!

Generally slugs and snails less keen on hairy plants. Also things like thyme and sage that have evolved a funny taste.

They attack underground too. some of our lettuces were wilting, dug one up and there was a baby slug and a white maggot chewing the root. {angry]
