They are supposed to be on tall upright stems aren't they?

Could it have been because I was late planting it and CBA-ness seemed to cut in? hmm

It's an Amaryllis btw.

I think it was a half price one that your daughter gave you - so it's her fault really!! grin

So glad you told me, jings cos I was wondering! Maybe it's just a new
dwarf...oops vertically challenged strain that none of us have seen before!

Ana Tue 02-Feb-16 17:25:34

Yes kitty, it was probably 'reduced'...grin

Love the colour. What was the variety called?

Lynker Sun 14-Feb-16 21:22:00

Mine has grown into a health looking plant, but no sign of a flower yet..... any idea where I have gone wrong?

WilmaKnickersfit Sun 14-Feb-16 21:42:41

Seriously though, you do get dwarf varieties these days and they don't fall over the way tall ones do. I had one for Christmas about 3 years ago and it had 3 flowers in bloom at one point, it was beautiful. I just kept turning it every time I spotted it leaning towards the light. I never have much luck with indoor plants, but if I saw another dwarf one, I'd buy it.

Mine was the Apple Blossom variety a bit like this one, but I only had 3 flowers and it was even shorter. I did say I wasn't good with house plants! grin

WilmaKnickersfit Sun 14-Feb-16 21:55:57

Oooops! Pressed the wrong button again blush

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 14-Feb-16 22:26:09

It's on it's second flower now, and another one coming along. Yes. It dawned on me that it could well be a dwarf one!

Sorry esspee. I can't remember what the variety was called.

I have tried getting two years out of them but they need a lot of care with drying out and chilling episodes before they flower again.

Wilma that "Apple blossom" is superb. envy envy
