Wind!

We have two 50sq cm wooden planters backed by a 5' trellis each side of a gate. Any thoughts about climbers to go in them? It's a very windy spot. North to South orientation. I wondered about winter flowering jasmine for one and honeysuckle for the other. Any chance of survival? Advice appreciated before I add more corpses to the compost [ smile].

Both do quiet well on our windy west facing slope in SW Scotland. There is some wind and frost damage though. What about the evergreen version of ceanothus? It's quite tough.

Thanks j52. I love ceanothus but have just had to compost one grown in a large tub, it just didn't like it. Reluctant to risk another. We're in the South so frost damage tends to be less of an issue. Reassuring to know both survive in your garden, I love both but don't want to be committing plant murder!

Hi again, there are evergreen honeysuckles that might do well and evergreen clematis, which also might thrive.

Will check them both out. Thank you
