Wonder if this will be helpful yesterday on the airplane I got talking to a man and he tipped me off about a FREE APP for plant identification I just put it on and used a plant I knew well and it identified it correctly You simply take a photo of the plant and it comes up with the name and details
Useful eh the app is pl@nt

Good old Keble Martin, a classic book for wild flower identification.

Correct Maranta just run it down myself in Keble Martin and verified by Google. Here's a photo illustration from Google.

Thanks to all smile

This picture shows the leaves more clearly.

No, I have several osterspemum and it's nothing like them. The leaves are very different, they are sharp, and look like wheat leaves. And this plant is shoulder height!!!

Looks like an osteospermum to me.

BlueBelle Fri 02-Jun-17 21:45:01

Is it from the oesterspemum range

Anya Fri 02-Jun-17 19:40:55

I haven't planted it, so think spread by birds. It stands shoulder height and the flowers are more purple than they look on my photo.
