Maggots in Compost

I have found lots of maggots in my compost bin. I never put cooked food in it, have a variety of different materials, turn regularly. Never in almost 50 years have I had them in the bin before. Has anyone else had them, what us the solution. Cannot face putting entire contents in bags and going to tip,. Saw someone else with maggots on the Home Forum, but this is a one off.
