We have a couple of hedgehogs who live in the gardens on our side of the road and I have hedgehogs holes in the fences connecting to my neighbours on either side.
But as far as feeding them, we were wary in case we encourage rats if we leave food out. But now we've found the perfect solution.
We leave out the odd cabbage leaf or similar on routes we know the hogs take between our gardens. The cabbage attracts several slugs and snails and the hedgehogs gobble them up. Every morning there is a little pile of hedgehog poo right next to the half-eaten cabbage leaf.
Just thought I'd pass this on.
