I keep finding ajuga in the lawn too, so if you are thinking of that as a replacement, be aware.

Yes Monica, I think total eradication is the way to go! I will just keep digging it up.

Creeping jenny had invaded the front lawn of our current home when we bought it. Nothing would kill it. Not, lawn weedkiller, not salt (DM's recommendation, not even Weedol. In the end I used sodium chlorate ( no longer permitted), it left a bare patch for over a year, but it went. Now the moment I see even one leaf of it. I carefully dig it out and put it in the black bin so that it goes to landfill.

I tried ajuga but that took over completely, apart from a dark little corner where I wanted it to actually grow!

I planted this as weed cover but it is so invasive. Does anyone else grow it ? Or should I just dig it out persistently or spray it ?
Any better ideas for ground cover?
