Panache has your DH set traps? They do work but you have to be determined. If he truly wants rid he is going to have to steel himself - pun fully intended! grin
Of course rabbits are an entirely different matter because unfortunately they are not contained in runs. I wish it was still possible to pop them off and cook them for lunch as it is our plants which are fattening them up. Grrr!

Whilst you ladies have my every sympathy how would you contend with say some 60+ mole hills on your pride and joy,lawn..............this is not a one off happening by the way,oh! no.............my poor demented DH has had this to contend with almost weekly since the end of last year.

It is some 7 years since we had a similar infestation and even a paid trapper failed to catch the little blighter after 6 weeks would you believe.

My man is a little "lily livered" when it comes to killing these furry little creatures its true, and the result is that little evil devil is playing fun and games, making his life one of non stop dismantling these mole hills...........some which are truly large.
Further more it ruined a perfectly good firm level surface and the lawn has never fully recovered, quite dangerous for walking on, because one could easily twist an ankle where these runs are criss crossing.
Even though it seemed to have done enough mischief for this past winter........ do I have the heart to tell my poor man that, on my little wander round and about this morning, another 4 of those unsightly "hills" have again appeared since he completed the mowing a few days ago,all be it they are much smaller............ they still remain a pesky nuisance, just like the little black fellow behind all this digging.

So I rather think you might...........just might....be getting away lightly with your menaces, but nevertheless what a darn nuisance they are.
As for bigger stronger plants deterring those bunnies............sadly I have no real answers, but do have my doubts, because they have now tasted the good life and extremely tasty nourishment you are providing!!!

Be gone ye pests one and all.

The RHS have a guide on plants that rabbits don’t eat. I think they’ll just love your tasty morsels.

In my garden it’s blooming cats.....I have tried barricades and nets but just like your rabbits they still succeed! Hope your idea works Luckygirl.

I planted out some begonia and lobelia seedling in the patio and decking tubs and the bunnies are absolutely delighted thank you, and have found them quite delicious.

I have covered the tubs in netting in the hope that this will discourage them. I have also potted on the remaining seedlings and put them in the summer house to get a bit bigger and stronger before putting them out where they are meant to be.

Will bigger/stronger plants be more able to deal with the bunnies; or am I just providing the bunnies with a larger helping?
