I always use chicken manure pellets with the occasional sprinkling of bonemeal or fish blood and bone to give them a boost.

What about chicken pellets? Or bone meal?

I searched for Phostrogen for weeks in local garden centres but couldn't find any and so got Miraclegrow. It's nowhere near as good though. Thanks for the heads up 're Wilko's, I'll pay them a visit this weekend.

Phostrogen is really high in Potassium so it is better than Miracle grow.

That is worth knowing, thanks. I tend to just sprinkle Growmore.

Practically every where you go round our area anyway, the main plant food is Miraclegrow. We've bought this for years with moderate success.
Years back we used to use Phostrogen and decided to seek it out again (Wilko sell it but not many nurseries).

What a difference this has made to our plants we're glad we returned to it.
