Last night I watched the programme from Hampton Court. I didn't watch the previous evening's show, but one of the presenters was, I think Jo Whiley. I haven't seen her before, but she didn't seem to sit well in the program, and I did wonder why the TV producers choose someone like this. Maybe other viewers liked her style, but not me. Sorry.

I liked Jo Whiley's floaty dresses and last night Arit's blouse. Enjoyed looking at the flowers too.

I've just watched the last one on catch up and I think Jo Whiley is a good presenter who worked well with Joe Swift.

Loved her floaty dress.

DH and I treated ourselves to tickets to the Hampton Court flower show preview evening. It was our second time there. The last time, a few years ago, we were rained off. Thunder, lightning, torrential rain. We were drenched and dripping when we got back to the hotel! This year was the total opposite. Gorgeous weather. The show was fabulous and we could move around freely. Far less crowded than on a regular day. No TV cameras or presenters anywhere to be seen.
Answering the OP, what has Jo Wiley to do with gardening? I don't like her presenting style either.

She's not proving very popular on Radio 2 either on the new format Drivetime show with Simon Mayo. But the BBC must like her.I'm afraid she's not my cup of tea.Maybe they are hoping to attract a younger audience, and whilst I think she's experienced as a rock /pop presenter I find the whole rock chick style off putting for a programme like Gardeners World.I find all the 'I'm so cool' leg crossing stuff annoying. But that's just me.She has been a passionate gardener for some time apparently.

The RHS is keen to encourage young people to take an interest in gardening. Sue Biggs said at Hampton Court that they are thinking of introducing music next year. So if it's to be a kind of Glasto-Hampton fest maybe Jo Whiley is the right one to present it.

It's not an age thing for me.I'm not much older than Jo Whiley. But somehow she's always grated. But yes I can see they want to encourage younger people to garden.I'm thrilled that my DD is already very keen since she has been lucky enough to buy a house with a lovely little garden.
