Yes, it looks rather like ground elder, I’m afraid.

In my garden I would also say this is ground elder. I pull it up and have been known to use roundup. It has gone now, but you have to be vigilant. I also have a varigated form in a border, but this hot weather seems to have done for it. Hope it will reappear next year!

Yup - I agree. It goes everywhere as it has underground roots. I just pull it up, but it really needs treating at root level either by digging up the whole bed or using chemicals.

Ground elder. It keeps creeping under the fence from next doors unkempt garden and appears in my organic veg garden. I just hoe it regularly and any I pull out goes into the kitchen waste bin and does not go onto the compost heap.

I don't know what it is but it isn't ground elder!!

Here's the RHS advice about ground elder. The picture looks just like Shysal's to me.

Don’t panic! I think it’s wild Angelica.

From your first picture it looked like field parsley leaves to me. From the same family of umbellifers as angelica.

Shown it to DH. He says it's wild angelica.

No no don’t dig it! Spray the leaves with glyphosate. Paint it on leaves where it grows into valued plants. Don’t be disheartened, you can eradicate it.
