Like Kitty I live in Leics but my bottlebrush looks as though it's struggling this year.

My neighbour has bought and parked a b----y gert camper van next to it and the sun that use to invade the front garden has been lost and put the bottle brush and a beautiful hibiscus in shade from about 1pm so I think they will be at best weak from now on sad

Well I got 3 plugs last year and I put them in pots and although they are growing well, have produced no flowers. Perhaps they need a year or two to settle before producing flowers? Does anyone know?
Yours looks lovely GrannyGravy.

That's how mine is GrannyGravy---overflowing with flowers and buds. Stunning.

Beautiful! You’ve inspired me to plant one!

I think ours must be having a year off, it's still just buds.

One stem came out about a fortnight ago, the rest about a week ago. It is a picture now.
I was trying to photograph a bee in that picture above, but I think it flew away.

Mine has been in flower for about 3 weeks.

Up north but all if my garden is about 2 weeks behind.
My bottle brush showing no signs.
I could however feed an army on kale and spinach?

Mine has been out in flower for a couple of weeks now

kittylester Wed 26-Jun-19 19:40:39

I think ours has done its thing.

I don't have one but have seen several in full bloom in sheltered positions around the south.

Callistemon ??

Callistemon Wed 26-Jun-19 19:11:15

You called?

Yes, I am out in full flower, looking wonderful wink

EllanVannin Wed 26-Jun-19 18:58:54

Mine is covered in flowers so many that the branches are bending--no kidding it's magnificent. Buds galore too.

I have one in a large pot in my porch. It flowered but the spikes make a dreadful mess so maybe it's best left out in the garden. It looks as though it may flower again (north west England but sheltered open porch).

Squiffy Wed 26-Jun-19 18:47:25

No, mine's the same, just buds. It looks healthy enough, so perhaps it's just being temperamental!

Beechnut Wed 26-Jun-19 18:36:38

Does anyone have their bottlebrush plant out in flower? Mine unusually, looks as it still has a way to go.
