We have a nice chunky one from the RHS called Gardening Through the Year by Ian Spence beautiful pictures and a very logical planning approach to the year.

DH has suddenly taken an interest in gardening after years of it being my job - well, with the help of occasional gardeners.

He is enjoying it but driving me nuts having taken it over but still bombarding me with questions that I can't really answer.

He has a birthday coming up in a couple of weeks so I thought I could get him a guide. I was thinking about a book that is divided into months giving instructions on what need doing and how. Something that allowed him to keep notes too would be good.

Our garden is small, has no lawn and it all perennials, shrubs etc. I think I am still in charge of pots and herbs!!

Anyone got any suggestions?
