How big/tall is it and what's its spread? From the photo it could be a small plant yet you say its a shrub.
Have you had it long or just bought it?

Euonymous?

kittylester Fri 27-Mar-20 17:49:48

It's not a weigela or choisya. confused

kittylester Fri 27-Mar-20 17:46:26

Just realised I forgot the picture of the leaves! blush

Callistemon Fri 27-Mar-20 17:30:58

Weigelas like full sun but are ok in semi-shade
It's not a good time to move it, March is probably the very latest time and it has become rather warm this week.

Callistemon Fri 27-Mar-20 17:29:15

Is it a weigela?

Callistemon Fri 27-Mar-20 17:26:59

I thought a choisya - does it have white flowers in late spring?

However, I am not sure about the purple/green leaves
They don't like full shade.

Skimmia?

SpringyChicken Fri 27-Mar-20 17:16:49

Oh, maybe ceratostigma? Does it have blue flowers?

SpringyChicken Fri 27-Mar-20 17:14:34

Is is a sickly azalea?

MiniMoon Fri 27-Mar-20 17:06:28

Is it mountain horopito? Otherwise called the pepper tree. I gave google lens a try and the picture it came up with looks exactly like your shrub.

Reminds me of Pernettya. Red or purplish berries in winter?

kittylester Fri 27-Mar-20 16:47:23

Dont think so gardener.

The leaves are tinged with red!

MamaCaz Fri 27-Mar-20 16:13:33

Sorry grin It just reminded (until I belatedly looked at it close-up) of a choisya that I used to have, which was always very sickly until I eventually found a spot in the garden that it liked.

Wondering if it could be sort of periwinkle.

kittylester Fri 27-Mar-20 16:01:39

No, it's meant to look like that! grin

MamaCaz Fri 27-Mar-20 15:58:12

Could it be a very unhealthy-looking choisya?

kittylester Fri 27-Mar-20 15:47:50

Closer on the leaves and, of course, I will remember as soon as you tell me! blush

kittylester Fri 27-Mar-20 15:43:53

Just that really - we've lost the label. DH wants to move it but I want to know how big it grows before I give permission. grin
