Every year I buy and plant bedding plants in the 5 tubs at the front of the house. Over the decades I have spent a lot of money! I've tried growing them from seed but with no joy. I'm not very green fingered.
I have a (cunning) plan. The two tubs at each side of the door could have a climbing rose and the other three perennials.
I like Gertrude Jekyll but dh isn't sure about the bright pink with our quite bright blue door, he prefers a paler colour.
For the tubs I've read I need a spiller, filler and thriller. (I've been reading! ). I thought if i went for cool colours then cineria and bacopa or if I went for hotter colours then creeping jenny and heuchera. But no thoughts on either for a thriller.
What thoughts and advice do you have? Thanks
