So whilst I was scanning through Facebook at breakfast yesterday I saw the announcement from Monty Don that his old dog Nigel had sadly died. Well I sobbed. I know it’s a bit ridiculous to get so upset about the death of someone else’s pet but I’ve been watching G.W. for more years than I care to remember and Nigel was such a favourite. I think if it hadn’t been for the times we’re living in I wouldn’t have cried so, but it all just came out. I miss my granddaughter so, and fear for the future so much too. Anyway I’ll miss Nigel but I’m glad Monty has got his new little Yorkshire terrier as well as Nellie.

Oh how sad. Last time I saw Nigel on GW I said to my dh that I thought he was looking old and not so well. Do you know how old he was.

Yes , I loved watching him too , hope they do a tribute to him on Friday , poor Monty , sometimes he looks a wee bit weary himself . x

I put this on the other thread, but some here may like to see it too. Such a heartfelt tribute from Monty, and some lovely pictures. I like the one of Nigel face to face with the camera. He was a real professional TV star.

Oh no! Nigel gone .....we will miss seeing him pad about after Monty.What a nice doggy life he led though.
