House plant suggestions please

I've got a big orchid that gets lots of compliments too, corner, which hasn't grown much in 5/6 years we've had it and it flowers continuously!!

Citrus plants in pots do well in our conservatory as does a lemon scented geranium. We’ve got a silk orchid out there that everyone compliments us on thinking it’s real. Sometimes I tell them .

I love an array of spider plants with babies hanging and growing they take a bit of neglect and heat.

A yucca, a mother in laws tongue and a spider plant spring to mind I have had all of these in a conservatory and now have them near my patio doors. Also have the rubber plant that I inherited from my mother and it does well in the south west facing window. Have a look on YouTube for ideas.

The room does get very hot in summer and I've lost run of the mill plants up there!

kittylester, as a keen gardener and lover of plants, I used to buy lots of indoor plants but after losing several variegated Ficus plants, I invested in a quite large artificial one and it’s great. In fact, without my specs on it looks real! I just blow the dust of it occasionally. I’ve now bought several smaller artificial houseplants from places like T K Maxx/Homesense and have them dotted around the house. They are particularly useful to put in dark corners where a real plant might not survive, also I have one quite close to a radiator, which would definitely not be happy when the heating was on! I never thought I would resort to artificial plants, but some of them look so real and have turned out to be invaluable indoors as I do need my greenery! I can’t remember the website where I bought my Ficus from, but there are many sites on the internet, especially if you don’t fancy going out to the shops just yet! Hope this has helped x

Palms would enjoy the light, there’s also more than one variety of the good old spider plant. Mother in Laws tongues are pretty indestructible. ( in all senses of the words!)

Ihave quite a large Dracaena in our living room which seems to thrive whatever I do to it. They are quite dramatic.
