If it is crocosmia....it may be crocosmia Lucifer...the leaves look a bit too wide to be the orange one...

I love that plant - we have some in our tiny back garden and I could hardly wait until the bright orange flowers came out.
Which they did about 2 weeks ago.
Some say they're a bit like weeds but they're so strong that they suppress the weeds and are so cheeful.

You say you dug the bulbs up, so you know what they look like? This is a Crocosmia corm.

We have a couple of these strap like plants that have sprung up in the garden, we have dug these bulbs up and we are carefully tending them but we don't know what they are, ideas anyone?
