Chrysanthemums

I was given a tiny one in a pot a few years ago. A while later I planted it in the garden. Wasn’t sure if it would take but it got bigger and bigger with masses of flowers. Beautiful display this year.

ExD. I feed it when I remember, poor thing, but this year I did treat myself to a new deep container, for the front garden. So it was filled with new multi purpose compost, and planted up. When I remember, I feed with Tomorite, or similar.

All the contents will stay there overwinter, and see what survives.
I think my garden thrives a bit on neglect, as I tend to leave well alone, then they don't all quake in their boots when I appear with a tool in my hand. ?

Do you give it any liquid feed? There doesn't seem to be much compost in the container and I should think most of the nutrients will have gone by now.
I was surprised how healthy this looks - its getting quite cold here at night-time (Cumbria) so I think I'll bring it in for a bit of TLC.

I had a chrysanthemum plant, small variety, 2/3 years ago, and didn't think it would survive outside.
But it did, and has been in an outside container now coming up for it's 3rd year.
At the moment, it is bushing out again and looks very healthy, especially as it is quite neglected.
Actually, when it flowers it is a very nice bronze colour, so lovely for the autumn.
Hope you get some more sensible replies.
