Any views on wool compost?

HurdyGurdy I had it delivered. Not cheap but if my lovely plant is happy and I remain well after handling (even with gloves and mask!) then I'm happy. I will never buy cheap supermarket compost again.
Sparklefizz- haha that's the downside!

I bought some from the garden centre. The plants were ok but the whole garden smelled of wet sheep when it rained.

Thank you keepingquiet.

Did you have to collect from the farm, or did they deliver?

Yes, I bought some last year for two reasons: 1 I bought an acid-loving plant and wanted it to thrive 2 I have a reaction to cheap compost which makes me ill for days,so I thought the organic sheeps wool would be worth the extra money.
The plant has seemed happy all through the winter and I have also planted heathers which I've never grown before.
So, so far I recommend as it is very good for the planet and for certain plants too.
I didn't get it from Marshalls though- I ordered it straight from a farm in Swaledale.

I've not heard of this before (but I'm not much of a gardener, so not surprising) but I've come across this wool compost, and wondering whether to give it a try. I didn't have a great growing year last year - all the vegetable plants I gave away to friends/neighbours, as they were surplus, thrived and produced loads of fruit. The ones I kept, just shrivelled up!

Has anyone used wool compost before and if so, what were your views.

(Are we allowed to post links? I'll add it anyway, and apologies in advance if I've broken a rule.)
