Help for weak hands.

I have RA which means I have little strength in my hands. I saw on TV a demonstration of electric secateurs by Bosch. I have bought a pair and can thoroughly recommend them! This morning I have used them to cut back some dead Lavatera branches up to an inch thick. Went through like butter, and should do 450 cuts on one charge.
I already have a Bosch rechargeable hand trimmer with two heads, which I also find useful, including for my few bits of topiary.
Does anyone else have any other recommendations for gardening aids?

What a wonderful gadget, I didn't know such things existed! Thank you!

The secateurs sound great. I have the Bosch trimmer and it's really useful, not just for those of us with arthritic hands. I find the strimmer wire always goes wrong and this replaces a strimmer.

We lashed out on a very expensive Bosch top of the range shredder on the strength of not going anywhere on holiday last year, spending more time in the garden and not being able to take cut down branches to the council dump. It’s been marvellous, chewing up quite big branches (though less good for small greenery) and loads of free wood chip into the bargain

My word, Bosch is getting the plaudits today!
I have a little Styhl chain saw, about 18 inches long which cuts through branches like butter. It's only drawback is my arthritic hands get tired of gripping.
I wish I had a magic way of moving containers from the greenhouse to their summer places (need a real live bloke for that). Sons are useful and don't need charging up apart from feeding now and then. smile

I have a Bosch mower and it is amazing - I can push it with one hand.

Fred Shed recommends their shredders. He reviews a lot of equipment on www.fredshed.co.uk/homepage.htm

I find it really difficult to tie seedlings to a support cane, now I use plastic pegs. Plenty of room for the seedling and a good grip on the cane

Is there anything tto help with weeding?
I have difficulty with grasping little weeds that most people just tweak out of the soil - shepherd's purse is a real problem for me, and other shallow rooted, low growing weeds. Grass is difficult too.
Dandies need digging because of the long tap root, but goose grass (the sticky one that goes by many different names) is a doddle.

Can you use a hoe on the shepherds purse - or
actually let it grow bigger and then it is really easy to pull out . Or one of those gadgets that burn the weeds ?! Boiling water also works. Maybe we should live with more ‘weeds’ for the bees and hover flies ! Wild flower - weed ? Love the secateurs though !

Ooh! Thank you for that recommendation, shysal!
