Pepper problem.

Agree with Jaxjacky slugs and woodlice probably the culprits - earwigs too are a possibility. I pick as soon as I notice any damage, even if not fully grown and ripe. Can still use- just cut away damaged bits. Best peppers we’ve grown are ones from seed collected from ordinary shop bought peppers.

I did half a dozen peas in a pot in my garden which got eaten to the soil so I took them out and put six new ones in with a complete covering of net They had grown to about 4 inches
I came down today and they ve been eaten to the soil and net was still completely in place ??‍♀️?
Very disappointing though

I’ve put netting on today and do check for slugs at night. A few in the tunnel but on the ground near lettuce. Nothing on the bench where the pots are. I’m putting a beer trap near them as well. There’s no damage to the leaves. ?

I’ve grown ? chillies a lot successfully.

I have never had success with peppers and I've tried growing them for five or six years now. I wouldn't have bothered this year to be honest because I always end up with holes in them too. I've never been able to determine what pest is causing this and quite often the almost ripened pepper will go mushy and bad.

I'm off to check on our chilli peppers just in case.

Possibly small snails/slugs that hide in crevices or under pots during the day, I’ve had it before. Then the woodlice get in the holes, doubly annoying.
