Gerbera in pot - advice needed

I have been given a gerbera in a flowerpot. At the moment it is flowering but I’m unsure what to do with it when it finishes. Could I put it outside in the garden, either in pot or flower bed or does it need to be indoors?

Most Gerberas are tender perennials which means that you can put them in a sunny border or pot during the summer months. The cold winter will probably be too much for them so you would need to bring it in under warm cover again in the autumn if you want to see it flower again next year.

Very good advice from Coastpath.
They are a cross of two South African plants so our climate is a bit too chilly in the winter for them.
I love them .
They are beautiful .
And florists love them too !

I like them too so was hoping that I could it going a bit longer. Maybe I’ll leave it in the pot and put outside when the weather has definitely warmed up.

Thanks for advice
