I’ve had a lilac for about 6 or 7 years and for the first time ever, I got a few pathetic flowers this year. Lucky to get 2 lots.

How old is your lilac ?
There are remontant varieties - which can rebloom .
I'd like one !
It's such a lovely plant .I love the colour and the scent .

It could be that it's yet another thoroughly confused plant due to our changing weather patterns .
Meanwhile enjoy it !

I will count myself lucky - just seems a bit odd.

Lots of shrubs flower twice when they're in the mood to. I don't know what causes it but I've seen it happen many times.

That’s lovely my lilac is only small but I plan on moving it come autumn I thinks it’s in too much sun.

Some plants and shrubs seem to have done well this year.

However, my weigelia seemed to have died, the leaves were brown. We've pruned it and given it a good soak but I wonder if the drought has caused this? They usually don't like too much water.

I have quite a few rhododendrons in pots .
Having very little room for them one of two are in conditions which are a bit too hot .

On a cool day and when I can get someone help me with lifting them -I'll find a cooler spot .

One of them despite suffering is producing blooms !

I thought what a brave little plant it is !

My hibiscus has finally flowered after about 10 years. It’s a pretty purply pink colour. Couldn’t believe my eyes! It’s twin in a pot shows no sign however of flowering.
