Just thought I'd share.

Scent and colour all jumbled togethersmile

Thank you Nams and others.
I think we all probably have a few little delights still.
I am so pleased to have some survivors - although it's been cold we haven't had any frost.

I have just been looking at winter blooms and found a clematis I'm interested in...
Clematis cirrhosa Freckles
Does anyone have it? winter flowering.

We don't really have an all-season garden though as we don't plan properly. We buy things we love (or are given from friends) then struggle to fit them in.

I love that spidery daisy NotSpaghetti and the Nerine next to the purple Smoke Bush. Gorgeous.

The daisy is really raggedy and I love it. Leucanthemum Sweet Daisy Cher.
It's actually just gone over. I took the photo a couple of weeks ago... but it has been lovely.

I'll have to ask my mother in law about the Nerine I'm afraid as it came from her.

Oh, these pics are lovely! ❤️

Notspaghetti what are the tiny purple flowers in your first post?

It's a fairly standard verbena. I'll look tomorrow to see if I've labelled it and if so, will report back. It's about 6ft tall. These are at the tips.

I’ve. Got asters all different colours, rudbeckia, delphiniums - second flowering, roses, geraniums, (not perlogoniums), dahlias, scabious.

Can’t remember if any more as away at the moment.

SueDonim I'm sureNotspaghetti will come back with the correct name, but I think it's a type of Verbena.

Notspaghetti I love your Toad Lily

Apologies, this last one is older.. think a good couple of weeks.

NotSpaghetti Wed 19-Oct-22 16:35:13

Last offerings - unless you want a couple of tomatoes which I'm about to bring in!

The photo of the vase of purples is beautiful Nams.

NotSpaghetti Wed 19-Oct-22 16:32:44

The last one is one of a (newish) Toad Lily. I've not had one before.

NotSpaghetti Wed 19-Oct-22 16:30:29

Close ups are the answer.

MaizieD out of shot are some tools, soggy wet cardboard, uncut lawn and more unmentionables smile

Shysal I have learned something new from you. smile I'd not come across Amarines. Just looked them up. Similar to Nerines. Tomorrow, if I have time before meeting a Gransnet friend for coffee, I'll take a photo of my few Nerines.

Some of the flowers in my garden today. A couple of weeks ago I brought all my geraniums indoors. I've since potted up winter pansies and narsicci. Also put new alliums in the borders. My Nerines are only just open. I'm in Oxfordshire.

On reading your post I just had another look at my Amarines. There are loads of buds! I am delighted!

Stunning pictures.
Is it just my eyes or do the colours of the flowers seem more vibrant this year? The pinks are stronger, the reds and purples deeper. Its almost as though the sun has given them an added tan boost!
A trough or two of mine today with new buds waiting to explode.

Ah! Now I didnt say my garden was ship shape - hence the picked flowers?

Namsnanny

MaizieD you can't come on with a list like that and not a photo in sight grin

I can, because my garden is a mess! I can't compete with the photos that have been posted... grin

Lovely flowers.

SueDonim Tue 18-Oct-22 11:52:07

That’s joyous, Springychicken! ? ? ?

Prentice Tue 18-Oct-22 08:45:26

Lovely flowers, and yes so good to see this colour in October.
Only two Nerines have flowered this year when usually there are about eight, but pelargoniums in flower still and fuschia, also roses in bud. Choisya just covered in flowers, so pretty.

shysal Tue 18-Oct-22 07:46:56

This year I planted Amarines, a cross between Nerine and Amaryllis. They have not produced a single flower. Somebody on here told me that they sometimes fail in the first year, but I am disappointed. I still have some garden colour: Geranium Roseanne, roses, salvia, aster, fuschias and busy lizzies. Frosts will soon knock them out, but not happened yet.
