A Visit To The Plant Nursery

We always visit on weekdays, avoiding the weekends.
Hence fewer families (!) and less chance of weekend part timers (= students and sixth formers, all of whom are charming but not necessarily plantspeople in their own right).

We go to a proper nursery that doesn’t have cafes or anything fancy just lots of sturdy healthy plants and hands on knowledgeable staff (owners). Plants still not that cheap though. I bought lots of plants reduced in October from loads of online nurseries, but the freezing spell has decimated them. Checking to see if any show signs of life in the next few weeks then heading to the proper nursery to fill in the gaps.

One AC and Dil went to garden centre to plant their new border, and told me last night that the prices have gone up hugely since we went to do some planning last autumn.

My friend and I decided to go to our local nursery yesterday .

We had a list of plants and things that we needed for our gardens .

There is a very nice and enormous cafe and there were long queues for it .

We couldn't help , but notice how few people were buying plants .
And
they certainly weren't cheap !
