Increase in price of lawn treatment

I’ve used a lawn treatment service for about 15 years now. 4 seasonal treatments each year. Until about 5 years ago the price remained pretty much the same. Since then it has steadily increased and from last year to approximately 15% this year. I’ve now cancelled the service, as I feel this is a luxury rather than an essential. Also, I’d like to see some wild flowers in the lawn to encourage the bees, insects etc. This is saving us £200 a year. 🐝🦋🐞

Well done, Patsy

We had ours treated by a firm for about three years but I thought it could harm wildlife, particularly birds which peck around for insects and worms on the lawn.

Ours has been au naturel for years and it's surprising what flowers come up.

Thank you for your vote of confidence Callistemon. I don’t know why we continued to use them for so many years. I really welcome wildlife into the garden, and don’t do a big tidy up until Spring, so there are log piles, lots of twiggy shrubs and deciduous plants for their hiding places during Winter. Ladybirds are not very frequent, though. I might have to buy some online.
