No, I've not seen as many this year in my normal routine, although I did go on a short canal trip in May and saw a lot of orange tips along the route.

Which country do you live in, dustyangel?.

I’ve seen more this year than for the last few years! Admittedly a different country and obviously different conditions but I was thinking that at least the intense heat suits someone.

I have seen very few. I’m hoping more will come along now that the buddleia bushes are starting to flower. We have quite a few house martins, no swallows.

It occurred to yesterday on the golf course as I watched a single butterfly go fluttering by that I have seen very few this year. Is it just me? Are you seeing the usual number of butterflies. I also saw a single swallow where we used to have more I'm sure.

(I have started this on the gardening thread but its maybe more for Environment but we don't seem to have that as a Forum thread heading - should we have one?)
