I shall be ordering at least 2 different bare root ones in the autumn, for planting in beds, but this is my potted Gertrude Jekyll this morning. Lovely scent, too.

Lovely choice!
Mine are just coming into bud again on the allotment. They are always first to bloom, and as you say smell divine.

I have a Gertrude Jekyll in a container, too! It’s just begun its second flush of flowers and the scent is divine. Enjoy your blooms, Witzend. 🌹

Good choice. I bought that rose for a friend a few years ago, made a point of doing a little detour off the M6 to visit David Austin roses to choose which one I wanted and spent a lovely hour or so there. Well worth a visit, especially when most of the roses are in bloom.
