Fox deterrent?

Lion poo never worked for me. I did find that if I sprinkled vinegar onto my bin bag when it went out the night before collection they ignored the bag, but only until cubs came along. In the garden I’ve tried Jeyes Fluid to no avail, too, but over the years it seems that the biggest problems come when the “young bucks” are vying for ownership of the zone.
So these days I just put up with them. And btw although I don’t live in the country per se I’m only 200 yards from the local woods and lake, so this is not an issue of over building - it’s nature to a very great extent. I’m just grateful I haven’t got to deal with badgers, as they’re on the increase round this way.

My Jack Russell seems to have a good way of communicating with them and manages to convey, ‘Sod off ‘ in doggy barks. My neighbour says they had a problem with foxes and badgers before I moved in.

I can smell them in the mornings though so they can’t be far off.

I was just thinking ‘dogs’ are the best deterrent, the foxes will be able to smell the dog scent in the garden.

With fewer fields and more and more housing I'm not surprised there are foxes 'knocking at doors'. We are the humans causing the problem unfortunately. I was brought up in the country and had no problems. Now we are in built up areas we have foxes in gardens scavenging for food. It's very sad.

They are making me mad at the minute. Every day there are 2 poos or more. It rains a bit and they don’t dry out. Sorry if TMI!
My neighbour said they take eggs which have been doorstep delivered and bring them to her garden to eat, then presumably poo in mine.
I have grandchildren and don’t like to have them running about at the moment.
I don’t mind the foxes just don’t like their poo!

I have this problem and it's a sore point with me .
I no longer exhibit my flowers at horticultural shows ,because the foxes which live in my nrighbour's neglected garden ruin them .
Now the fence is broken again and he's avoiding everyone .
My hopes were raised when I saw some wood being delivered but now it's fading as I heard him telling a delivery man that he can't lift anything anymore .
I planted a hedge and they wrecked it .
I haven't found a successful solution .

I gave up leaving the food waste caddy outside overnight after it was raided by, I assume, foxes. So now I have to get up early in the morning to put it out with the other recycling. Strangely, though, everyone else in the street seems to be able to leave theirs out without any problem

We used to be able to buy real zoo poo around here, but mercifully, the zoo closed.

I've heard that lion poo repels cats and foxes (don't know if it affects dogs though.) I've seen it for sale at B&Q and also on Amazon. Not real lumps of poo, just impregnated granules!

I’ll send Dh into the garden tonight to do a round in the garden 😬.

Don't have stupid, selfish neighbours either, if you want to deter foxes.

Make sure the foxes cannot open your dustbin or compost bin, as especially in urban areas these things attract foxes, and that there is no edible rubbish accessible.

The old advice in Scotland for deterring foxes was to send all the men in a household outside to wee, along the perimiter fences of the property. I have no idea if it works.

In Denmark, the barking of a dachshound is said to deter them.

Oh, and don't keep hens, if you want rid of the foxes.

I wonder if a sensor light would do the trick, but it would be constantly on and off, where my flat is.

I've not found anything that actually works, yet.
I was going to get some hot chilli flakes, and hope it might burn their bugles when they sniffed around.

I've not tried it yet, though.
