How to kill an invasive plant Lysimachia punctata

I used i5 on mares tail and painted it onto the emerging shoots with a very small brush, had to be done twice.

How did you apply the killer?
I've pulled huge amounts of roots out but not sure if I have all of them, this is in the back garden.
In the front garden the plant is still there but growing into other plant roots.
How would you deal with this situation.
I was thinking take the nuisance plant out and wait until the dormant season to take out the plant where the roots have been grown into, then replant it.
What do you think?

I have invasive passionflower next door and quickly noticed its roots popping up new shoots several m away from the joint wall, old wall without foundations. That weekend I purchased bamboo barrier and spent the whole weekend putting that down, maybe 12 inches, into the soil about 10inches away from the wall. The barrier is impregnated with copper

I pulled up any roots that I could find in my garden, luckily distinctive. Not had a problem since, next door still has the passion-flower and I put a copper solution down between barrier and wall every year or so
