Have to admit, I have never tried this before today. I decided to do some gardening and always get my hands really dirty despite wearing gloves. Naturally, the grime gets down my nails and no amount of scrubbing completely removes it.

Well, this morning, I followed the tip of scratching a bar of soap to deposit some down my nails.......and it works!

Gardening done, hands washed and I have lovely clean finger nails.

That’s a great tip, I hate wearing gardening gloves. I had a couple of gift sets at Christmas which included bars of soap and we only use liquid soap so that is a good way to use them.

Oooh, thank you for this idea. My nails always take a bashing despite gloves in the garden.

I started doing that a long time ago but stopped as the soil dried my nails.
So now I have surgical gloves under the gardening gloves.

Same here, soap under, surgical gloves and gardening gloves on top.
