Also check the roots are well in the shade. It loves to have its feet in the shade and its head in the sun, so to speak.

Good luck with it, I love homeysuckle but luckily mine isn't evergreen. It looks dead in the winter!

If the leaves are fine I would just give it a good feed of liquid seaweed or Tomorite and let it take care of itself.

I made the mistake of planting an evergreen honeysuckle next to a shed. It grew all over the felt roof and ruined it and, because it was evergreen it she’d leaves all year round. One of my many gardening disasters along with planting passion flower in the garden which took over the whole garden.

Don't snip the flowers off, birds absolutely adore the berries and last all through the winter.

I have a honeysuckle in a planter. It seems to be thriving despite the laxity in my watering. It doesn't compete with much else in there though and is now climbing over my shed roof!
I have topped up the compost lately though- so maybe a good feed may help?
I always say I will trim it down but never do. I even have some little wrens nesting in it!
