After years of successful mowing with a petrol driven lawn mower, now have t change to a new machine. what do people think about using one of these battery cordless mowers? Fors and against? Many thanks

Totally for. I saw them demonstrated at RHS Hampton Court Flower Show, and was very impressed, so ordered a Bosch model. It is lightweight and the battery keeps its charge. I’ve had it for seven years. The petrol mower was becoming too heavy for me.

We bought one recently and it is great. Very light and easy to use. The make is Green something or other.

That's what I've got Primrose53. It's Greenworks cordless mower.
I can recommend it. Mines got 2 batteries and they don't take long to charge up.

I bought one a few years ago from Screwfix it was a Mountfield make and about £100. I am very happy with it. Unfortunately they are not doing that make in that price range any more but have others. I find it so much easier now the cord isn't trying to strangle me.

I loved mine BUT, I bought it from Argos and when it stopped working, no repair place would look at it and Argos said they could do nothing as it was out of guarantee.

It sits looking like new but doesn't go. I pay a gardener to cut my grass. Much less stress.

If you decide to buy one, buy it from a lawn mower dealer who will service it.

I've had a GTech one for years. It's great even on our boggy brae of a garden.

Mine is a Bosch too, about 8 years old. Highly recommend though I believe the GTech one is good. I have other GTech tools and they’re excellent.

My husband loves his as he used to have some bad falls tripping over the cord. Best to have two batteries if you can afford to unless you only have small lawns. It can be frustrating to have mown 9/10th of it only for the battery to go flat.
