The Swiss garden expert omitted to say a lot of Germans pay to have their gardens tended Spring and Autumn by professional Companies , they don’t do it all themselves.

I enjoyed it but I wish he'd spent more time on the wider heritage of the Rhine. I suppose gardens are his thing.

I was interested by what a Swiss gardening expert said in programme 1, that British people have gardens to look at, whereas Swiss and Germans have gardens to live in and to use

I heard that and was surprised they thought that because it is simply not true!

I've watched 2 out of 3 so far. I'm enjoying the series.

I spent some time staying on the Rhein to do part of my German degree. You need to be a mountain goat to get up to some of those high up places on foot! 🐐

Thanks, looks just the thing for a dull winter day.

Yes we holidayed on the Rhine last summer, and recognise a lot of places.

I watched the first episode this afternoon and really enjoyed it.
Beautiful scenery, interesting gardens and the rooftop gardens were fascinating.

I only wish I had found some of the splendid gardens Monty has when I lived there.

Having lived near the mighty Rhine in Germany I knew nothing about it before emigrating.
It has beautiful scenery, so green, and is still an important cargo channel.
So many beautiful places along the Rhine and the beer gardens on the riverside are delightful too.

On a cold wet day here in the Westcountry I have binged-watched all 3 programmes in this series. I just want to recommend it. It is absolutely joyous and has brightened up my day. I urge you to watch it even if you’re not a keen gardener as the scenery is wonderful.
