Blue Crocuses under a golden witch hazel bush

I have pots of purple pansies with yellow narcissi growing with them.

I’m on the South Downs, I think we’ve had a flurry of snow that did not lay before Christmas. We’ve had a week or so cold weather -again largely before Christmas, but this winter has been wet and relatively mild.

I planted some English bluebells in the green yesterday. I have 6 Solomon’s seal to plant sometime, and will move a fern and arum italicum as companions. All that is in that area at the moment is snowdrops. But I just love them.

I wish people would say where they are. I am at the top of a hill in Durham with only five snowdrops. Maisie is very fortunate.

I'm in Durham, too, but at the bottom of a hill. We may be a bit ahead of you but we're also in a frost pocket. I still have snow in a corner of my garden untouched by today's warm sunshine

I have tgree Daphne shrubs in bloom and the fragrance is wafting up the garden is wonderful.

Central Angus in Scotland here and only 1 purple crocus popped through in the border by the kitchen door but no sign of its dozens of pals in the rest of the garden yet.

Success this year though with beautiful yellow aconites. I’ve tried planting them for years and now they’re popping up where I didn’t put them. Accompanied by snowdrops too. Love all the spring flowers .

Frosty and cold here after lots of rain but not much snow.

I have little islands of flowers dotted around. Some early yellow crocuses, a few primroses that have been in flower for weeks, snowdrops in full bloom and a little clump of cyclamen which have also been in bloom for a few weeks now. Witch hazel flowering too.

It's also snowing 😃

Luck you. A big smile when these plants and flowers make their yearly appearance in this horrid cold weather.

Far to early for crocuses here, or anything except some rather reluctant snowdrops.

I have no idea whether they are in bloom or not, as the entire area except my front path and pavement, which I clear, is under 30 cm of snow.

Love hearing about everyone's emerging spring flowers. I too gaze at the snowdrops, crocuses, primroses and even budding daffs in my garden and feel hopeful that spring 🌼 🌱 is on its way. X

So jealous of your early spring! We have had spring temps which have melted a lot of snow but left a lot of ice behind as temps then freeze at night. Unusually mild February to date but starting next week, winter will return, likely for another six weeks. I don't anticipate crocuses until at least mid April...sigh...

On our walk yeasterday there were a mixture of snowdrops and purple crocuses on the verge in a country lane. So beautiful!

My Son is taking me to Dunham Massey next week to see silver birch trees with snowdrops underneath. It is a National Trust property so tea and cake too. hugs

We have we light red flowers, and every year it also shows some dark red fkowers. 😊

I just notice one of the pots in my front garden has at least a dozen yellow crocus ...lovely to see..

I cleared my overgrown old rockery last autumn. Now yellow primroses and cyclamens both white and pink have sprung up all over. They weren’t there before. It’s a lovely cheerful sight.

I’d go out and look, but the rain puts me off!

I love the colour combination. In my garden it is primroses with blue Anemone Blanda, both of which are presently in flower.

My crocuses aren't up yet ,but little clusters of snowdrops are .
My white Japonica has been in bloom for weeks -so lovely that I'm thinking of making a new hedge of them .
The front garden offers no privacy and I dislike it .

My crocuses are woodland crocuses. They are the earliest. 😊
