Wood rush in lawns

I have had a new lawn mowing man,m now all my lawns are covered in Woodrush, far way to much to dig out, sure it's been transmitted via seeds from other gardens round here,most lawns have it. It is a big area. I used to have a well known lawn treatment plan but they gave transferred it to a monthly plan over 12 months and is way too expensive and they won't do just a few treatments a year, for example tge summer treatment was in tge middle of a heatwave and I left istructions it wasn't to be done but they did.
