Remember the expression, heart throb?
Mine was Ed Byrne from 77 Sunset Strip and I also fancied Joe from Bonanza.
And don't get me started on Pat Boone! (Is he still alive?)

Clint Eastwood as Rowdie Yeates in Rawhide (I wanted to have an Adam's apple like his not knowing girls didnt have them!) who was later replaced by David Cassidy (swoon). I still like DC's early songs but don't think I'd like either chap nowadays if I was to actually meet them.

Gagagran - That is a lovely story. I will tell my sister. As for the blish - this from a woman who was a typist for 37 years! Oops. Out of practice I think.

KatyK I was once at a reception at St James' Palace and Dickie Henderson was "on duty" hosting the room until the Duke of Edinburgh came through on his royal progress through the various chambers in the suite. Dickie was lovely - chatting to everyone and cracking jokes - very easy with the assembled company. (Nick Ross was also in our room and he too was very nice.) Your sister would have loved it! She might even have "blished"! wink

Haha Susieb there must be something in our names then, because my real name is Susie B. wasn't Paul's hair blonde? Either way he was so sexy!

Yummygran - I really liked Paul Kossoff as well - love curly black hairsmile

KatyK Thu 16-May-13 17:41:56

My sister, who was about 8 at the time, used to blish when Dickie Henderson came on TV!

soop Thu 16-May-13 17:08:14

Steve Race - Pat Boone - Richard Chamberlain - Jonny Mathis and John Boulter/Bolter - the tenor in The Black and White Minstrels smile

Susie, I agree and liked both Paul Newman and Ryan O'Neal, but for me Ben Murphy was more sensitive and boyish, which appealed to me as a teenager. As I got older I was (and still am) attracked to men with long curly hair, as long as it is well looked groomed and clean.grin So another favourite was Paul Kossoff from the band Free, and in fact my fav song is Alright Now....but that's another thread I guess.

Paul Scofield in Man for All Seasons was my first love.
Kinda liked Avon in Blakes 7 a bit later.

Obviously that should be Clint Walker not Cling !! Although maybe not......

KatyK Wed 15-May-13 16:50:46

Petra. I agree Cling Walker was rogeous. Didn't he play Cheyenne Body?
I remember some folks calling their new born sons Cheyenne. I wonder how they feel about that now.

Henrietta,it was Robert Vaughn in the Man From Uncle.

susieb755 Tue 14-May-13 21:24:57

Yummy gran - my sister loved ben murphy - I always saw him as a hybrid of Paul Newman and Ryan O neal - I preferred his partner Pete Duel, and broke my heart when he died

susieb755 Tue 14-May-13 21:22:03

Davey Jones from the Monkees, replaced by Marc Bolan a few years later..
I think that Marc imprinted on me, as I have only ever dated men with dark curly hair...( to start with that is - DH hasn't much left )

I was just going to write David McCallum when I read what you'd posted. He was in The Man From Uncle with Robert Wagner (I think) and I had his picture on my wall. He was gorgeous.

NfkDumpling Tue 14-May-13 20:55:09

Mummy? I typed Mmmm!

NfkDumpling Tue 14-May-13 20:54:35

Mummy, Steve McQueen did have a certain something!

petra Tue 14-May-13 20:46:40

Just Binged it ( don't use google) It's Will Hutchins.
While looking it up I saw Clint Walker: God, wasn't he gorgeous.
My grand passion as I grew up ( and 'till the day he died) was Steve McQueen.

NfkDumpling Tue 14-May-13 20:42:05

Like Merlot - Robert Horton from Wagon Train. And Adam Faith.

petra Tue 14-May-13 20:31:49

Can someone help with this one: it would have been on TV about 1960; he was a cowboy and he drunk sasparila.

Enviousamerican Mon 13-May-13 21:50:09

Guess that's why he lost Jill Ireland.

Galen Mon 13-May-13 21:33:02

Oh yes! Still love him as 'Ducky' on NCIS

numberplease Mon 13-May-13 21:32:58

No, Envious, sorry, I always thought he was a bit boring.

Enviousamerican Mon 13-May-13 21:22:30

didn't anyone like David McCallum?

HildaW Mon 13-May-13 21:17:08

Alias Smith and Jones.......sort of TVs answer to Butch Cassidy and Sundance. Think I preferred the blonde one. It was the only time I ever had a poster on my bedroom wall!
