Just heard that he of Juke Box Jury fame has died aged 87. Heavens, I thought he was ancient when I used to watch him on JBJ when I was 13!

Here is a little story concerning David Jacobs. It was in an interview and he was talking about his dad who was a greengrocer and used to go to Covent garden very early in the morning to buy fruit and veg. David said that his dad always thought of every day as being sunny because it is nearly always so at 5 in the morning. He found that on the whole his dad was right and often when I go to the loo at about that time (except in the winter) I find myself thinking of David and his dad going off to Covent Garden in the sunshine.

Just seen this thread - I didn't know he'd died. You can still listen to him (must be recordings obviously) on JazzFM Sundays at ?5pm.
I think it's called Blues and Rock - I like to listen to it while doing the ironing.

Sorry to say I mixed up David Jacobs with David Freeman!
It's David Freeman who has the programme on JazzFM on Sunday evening - just been listening to him while ironing.
It's my age.
