Models and film stars were often described as having the perfect 'vital statistics'. We never hear of that now, do we?
But I seem to remember that 36:24:38 was something to aim for.
(Don't know about the other leg though! smile

I recall getting measured for work uniform and my waist measured 28" on the measuring tape which I thought was big. It would be nice to be 28" now !!

Now the worry is all those with waists in excess of 34 inches!

Coolgran 65 I was also a 28" waist all through my teenage years and even after my first baby when I was 22. I thought it was big too but in those days I had friends whose average waist size was 24".

Surely that has to be a good thing! When talking about male film stars, they didn't state their vital statistics: 42, 34, 3" wink

When I first married, aged 19, my waist measured a little over 20" (hubbie could get his hands around my waist) and when I married the second time (late 30s) my waist measured 22" - but did it make any difference to me as a person? No! I've never understood what the fascination of all that was about.

Those were my statistics in my late teens/ early twenties [sigh]

I'm glad they've gone too. My waist was 28" and I felt it was too big, but now I haven't got one!

Strange expression- vital statistics - glad it's gone.

I suspect more of us had 28 inch waists than were prepared to admit it at the time!

I would love to have a 28" waist now. I don't seem to have a waistline at the moment. In my 20s, it stayed at 26" and I looked pretty respectable. Childbirth has a lot to answer for. Well, that's my explanation excuse.

I am a pear! Boo Hoo - I long for nice legs.

annodomini Tue 09-Sep-14 14:13:32

I'm an apple whereas I once was a figure 8.

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 09-Sep-14 14:21:51

I can just about make out a waistline, if I heave my rib cage up to where it should be. (That sounds horrible doesn't it)

I used to be 34/24/33. And 8 stone 2. Too thin I think.

Now, I'm dieting. hmm
