I am happily searching for ancient family members on findmypast new sub present from my sister - already found a 5xgreat grandfather!
She made it a world sub so I have the Irish records too.

However I have been making my way through a maze of various mistranscriptions of the name Tudor - one handed down as a first name and even ending up as TUCKER...but the originals show people's mistakes very well! So now I do know who it came from.

What a brilliant present! I agree that looking at these sites can be addictive. Whole afternoons just disappear, which is a great way to get through miserable winter weathher.

....Now I just have to try and find out who John Rogers and Susannah Tudor were.....

Oh, Alie I agree, such a good present. Research into various branches of my family has been a passion with me for several years now but be aware it can be very addictive!!

Not only whole afternoons disappear as MrsJimJam says but you will find yourself settling down for half an hour in the evening "just to check something", only to see the sunrise of a new day!

I'm fascinated by genealogy. My cousin (dad's brother's daughter) has beat me to our family tree though. Five generations of B tree available on line.
We are trying find out about DH's father who was a Banardo's boy. DH knows nothing at all except the hone he grew up in. They have found him but it will take them a few months to prepare the information.

Re the Tudor name I must also contact the only other researcher on ancestry with the son Jeremiah Tudor Rogers on - about the mistrans, because he/she has some of them eg Tutor, Tudah and even Ludor........

He was Jeremiah Judah when I first heard of him!
