WOOT - Here it is, our very own shed ( Thanks GSHQ), real posh one too, no more old doors etc. it may be small on the outside but, inside, WOW, it's a tardis, plenty of room for everyone.
However it's a bit bare atm, contributions to make it homely greatly appreciated. BUT remember it's Granddads' shed, no chintz please.

Hope to see you all from time to time.

I'm going to plant some flowers soon 'cos all I've been doing is veggies, and himself reckons they are so healthy they give him the runs!!!

My veggie garden is fenced off from the dog, with a gate I found in a dumpster. I got the posts from next-door's renovation throw-outs, and another neighbour gave me the chicken wire as she had no more use for it. The area contains a chicken run, a recycled wardrobe, on its side, pretending to be a large planter, an old metal single bed, with recycled planks along the base, and polystyrene seed raising boxes on it. The old dressing table is in the garden shed, housing tools and cockroaches. Oh and there's an old metal shop counter frame, with chicken wire mesh attached, as another huge planter. The wardrobe door sits on two discarded stereo speakers, and acts as a table for some more polystyrene plant boxes.

I guess it is more bedroom than veggie garden, and even has it's veggie porn moments. Honest! In summer when my pumpkins are in flower, I can be seen in my old nightie early in the morning with a soft paintbrush in my hand, fertilising the pumpkins in case the bees don't come

ho pomps, I mean hi pomps! I think we all have mixed views on lots of things. Say your bit on those threads, please. The more the merrier. Even if we don't all reach the same conclusion, or any conclusion at all, the discussion can be interesting.

I'm a bit cheesed off with jangly this morning for being such a kill-joy. Right now I'm resisting the temptation to shout at her. It's quite a hard tempttion to resist.

pompa Mon 15-Aug-11 07:17:53

Has anyone got something light hearted to discuss, we have a lot of deep meaningful threads on the go atm. I find myself with such mixed personal views on these, I cannot contribute anything constructive.

Baggy Sun 14-Aug-11 21:19:53

I mean prob.

Baggy Sun 14-Aug-11 21:19:40

No porb, else. Glad you're feeling better.

ElseG Sun 14-Aug-11 21:11:11

Sorry Baggy I didn't spot your kind response. I think it was mostly down to frustration over soon to be ex son in law and poorly hip. I am much happier now, the potting helped.

Baggy Wed 10-Aug-11 10:17:17

My shoulders are aching from hacking rhododendrons and shredding yesterday and the day before so I'm quite glad it's pouring down today so I can have a break from that. Had to go and sweep the ground gutter that runs past our back door this morning though, so that the water flowing down the brae (side of mountain) where we live can flow past and into the drain rather than under the door and into the scullery. It's not a terrible problem if it does run inside because the floor is concrete and there's a drain in the middle, but it's preferable to just have a shallow 'moat' to rinse our wellies in just outside the door. Bet no-one else has to do this — not even that MP who claimed moat-cleaning on his expenses!

I'm sure we can find some weeding for you to do. Let your anger out, we will listen.

Baggy Wed 10-Aug-11 08:19:00

What's up, else? Anything we can help with?

ElseG Wed 10-Aug-11 07:47:11

I am feeling all angry inside today so thought I would pop in here to do some therapeutic re-potting. Any other stuff you would like me to do?

ElseG Fri 05-Aug-11 22:53:12

Back from holiday and the motorhome has survived but I am sorry the auxiliary battery overheated so camping is out for a while.

ElseG Sun 31-Jul-11 14:05:12

Oh that's good, very pleased. I haven't run away or anything. Have gone camping for a few days and iPad coverage is not good. It has given me lots of time to read Room though.

supernana Fri 29-Jul-11 13:11:45

ElseG your message made me laugh out loud...grin

ElseG Wed 27-Jul-11 10:07:47

We gave Our shed away to a neighbour to make way for a conservatory; now that's posh! There was not much room in the shed anyway, full of gardening stuff for some reason! Now there's no room in the conservatory smile

Baggy Wed 27-Jul-11 06:36:12

We don't do posh or pride and joy, just interesting. So our shed summer house has a built in bunk (sleeps several), a wood-burning stove, a motley collection of old chairs, Mr and Miss B's sailing drysuits and three bikes. Oh, and the shredder lives in a corner too.

grannyactivist Wed 27-Jul-11 00:00:36

Spent some time this evening in my 'actual', as opposed to 'virtual' garden shed and this one is much nicer! Think I need to get the Marigolds on and shift some spiders ........and their children.......and their grandchildren.......and their great-grandchildren and their.......well, you get the picture! Lots of spiders!!!!
