I wish I had a shed--but then if I did have a shed I would probably be scared to go in it just in case a mouse made it his home--do you think that happens often?? if it doesn't I am definitely getting a shed.

FlicketyB Mon 29-Apr-13 06:46:49

Leave some apples in the shed, you will soon know if you have mice!

cathy Mon 29-Apr-13 15:00:45

How do u get rid of them if you do get mice in a shed and is it even possible to have a garden shed and ensure not having mice want to share it with you

FlicketyB Mon 29-Apr-13 16:19:48

Block any holes where they are getting in and put down mice poison. We had a mouse in our house in France. WE never saw him, just his trail of chewed objects. We put poison down and on our next visit found his corpse on the stairs. Swept him up with a dustpan and brush and put him in the bin.

FlicketyB. What are you doing in the grandad's shed? If I may be so bold as to ask!

FlicketyB Mon 29-Apr-13 19:51:33

Well, I AM a grandma...and I draw a veil over the rest.

cathy Tue 30-Apr-13 10:31:21

Thank you Flicksmile

Grannyeggs Tue 30-Apr-13 10:38:22

bookdreamer we can all go in the shed....I think.

shysal Tue 30-Apr-13 11:11:27

cathy, I used to have mice in my old broken shed, because I kept bird food in there. I now have a sturdy one which has stayed vermin-free for a couple of years. My shed is near the house so I treated myself to a more attractive one like I had seen on an Alan Titchmarsh TV program, following which they did a special offer. Still not cheap though!

shysal thats the nicest shed I have seen, its more like a little house, I love it an now want to have one, thank you for the tip, the fear of mice going into a shed was stopping me from buying one, and I do really want to have a shed, thank you for letting me know about this shed!smile

My reason for wanting a shed is to do my writing in there..

Well, I remember the shed from way back as a. Lovely quiet place to hide so despite being a grandma thought it might be a good place to start. I may be LizG now but I was ElseG a lifetime ago. Got upset by some arguments then lost my passwords etc but have kept in touch via Twitter and Facebook. Finally decided to pop back in today to see how everyone is getting along and with the help of Gransnet local eventually managed it.

That was a nice sit down, off now to have a look around. Look after yourselves.

Oh dear Ariadne it has taken me forever to find my way back here and I still don't know how I did it. Still a bit of learning won't harm me. Thanks for the welcome.
