Adverts I hate

There are nay adverts that bug me, but my current top of the list is the Knor stock pots one, he asks "is this beef local" the reply "Yes, it comes just 70 mile away" is ridiculous. We live on the East Coast, 70 miles could include France/Holland etc. For anyone living in the Midlands it would include much of England. My local Tesco can at least get meat/veg from the same county.

What gets your goat?

Shreddies...who do they think they are kidding with the Grans knitting them.
Any PPI adverts...why didn't people read the small print or walk away from the loan and find someone who wouldn't fleece them!

I think I'm turning into a Grumpy Old Woman! thlangry

I have to always mute the sound when the advert for the Gtec cleaner comes on. It goes on and on and on and then the annoying man says "paands" instead of pounds! I BLOODY HATE IT!!

shysal Sat 22-Oct-16 16:36:31

The ones I have to mute at the moment are the adverts for Nationwide, where someone sits and spouts endlessly in a poetic way about keeping in touch, first keys etc.

Do I want to see someone pouring blue water into a sanitary towel while I'm having my tea ? And just to show I'm not sexist, I don't want to see anyone squirting yellow water into a Tena for men pad either.

Greyduster Sat 22-Oct-16 15:46:20

Anything with sofas - or, in fact, furniture if any kind - and the word "faaantastic!!" In it.

Granny23 Sat 22-Oct-16 15:39:13

I have to agree that the twerking men (who is it supposed to appeal to?) is worse than the Audrey Hepburn one

Jalima Fri 21-Oct-16 16:26:52

I loathe the twerking men advert for Moneysupermarket, which means I will never look at their site.

There's another advert for holidays that I dislike - the man dives into the pool but never actually hits the water - so annoying. I can't remember the firm anyway.

The Specsavers ones are good - DH always asks 'what sort of cheese was that', though, if we are out eating a sandwich on a picnic bench! And the collie being sheared

It does annoy me when they use old songs in adverts and make a parody of a lovely old film, like the 'Audrey Hepburn' Galaxy advert. Just irritating.

Anya Fri 21-Oct-16 15:33:10

I'd forgotten the collie one DB ..love that one and especially the lovely Celtic music in the background.

GrannyAsNanny Fri 21-Oct-16 15:27:11

Sorry, can't bear the men in shorts and the builders - "You're SO MoneySupermarket" - what on earth does it mean??

DaphneBroon Fri 21-Oct-16 11:56:52

I do wish this was called Adverts we Love!
Just thinking of Specsavers,(the collie and cat with no pulse) ) Dogs Trust, most John Lewis Christmas ads,etc make me smile to think of them. The others? Mute button /make a cuppa/go to the loo / check GN - to every thing there is a season! grin

Everthankful Fri 21-Oct-16 11:55:30

I can't stand the meerkats adverts and endorsements, they are no longer cute, just extremely irritating.

Lupatria Fri 21-Oct-16 11:33:54

love the meerkats, love the big bums and the builders, love the curly moustached one singing, love several more but haven't a clue what they're advertising!

somehow i think that's not quite what the advertising people want.

LullyDully Fri 21-Oct-16 11:16:09

Absent....I also.love specsavers. The one.with the sandwiches reminds me so.much of.my Mum and Dad. " What sort of cheese was that ..Mary?".Oh.....Bert." so like.them as they got older. I suppose.it should be us now.really.

sunseeker Fri 21-Oct-16 11:00:56

Like most people I use the ad breaks to make a cup of coffee (or pour a glass of wine!) or nip to the loo, but have to say the one that is annoying me at the moment is the one for Vodaphone (I think) where a man and his two friends are seen in different locations and he holds his phone in the air and shouts "yes!". That one seems to go on forever!

loopylou Fri 21-Oct-16 10:43:24

Galaxy chocolate bloody woman!
Go Compare aka Go to Hell in this house
Those dancing builders and men with big bums.......make me feel sick!

Granny23 Fri 21-Oct-16 10:31:12

The most annoying ad has to be the one with the Audrey Hepburn look-a-like on the bus to the tune of moon river. It must have been on 1000's of times, seems to appear during every ad break.

What annoys me most though is that DH changes channels when the ads come on, is furious to discover that every channel has adverts at the same time and then can't find his way back to the programme he was watching originally.

LadyGracie Fri 21-Oct-16 10:16:51

Anything I want to watch on a channel with adverts I record, adverts are so repetitive, can't stand them. I do make a point of watching the Christmas ones! wink

Anya Fri 21-Oct-16 09:33:24

Can't stand the 'Go Compare!' adverts to the extend I mute the TV when they come on.

Like the big white labradoodle in the Flash advert demanding to know where his mud's gone?

BlueBelle Fri 21-Oct-16 09:12:32

I hate most adverts but do like the merkaats especially at the start of Corrie when one of them stands over the road grid the little noises they make the ummms etc make me smile I also like the sweet advert where the grown ups have kids voices is it haribo ?
My pet hates are the woman that does a fake fall off her chair with yoghurt on her nose the dancing men in shorts with big bums tweeking or something similar and The OF COURSE YOU CAN advert that really really really grates on me

Christinefrance Fri 21-Oct-16 08:56:45

Hate the money supermarket
Love the Dogs Trust
Hate the Alberto Balsam where the music keeps stopping.

Anya Thu 20-Oct-16 23:22:08

Nellie I love the 'cat with no pulse' one grin

I also like the BT one where he is hanging from the helicopter shouting 'put me down'!

Nelliemoser Thu 20-Oct-16 23:07:03

I hate money supermarket.
The best for me is still Specsavers. They are just gems.

specki4eyes Thu 20-Oct-16 22:15:13

There's a new advert for Morrisons - a woman with a sickly, treacly voice bangs on about beef brisket and potatoes 'tumbled' in beef dripping. She advocates eating this junk whilst sitting on the sofa. I have to hit the mute button.
But I love the Meerkats, in fact I have one on my bed.

papaoscar Tue 07-Oct-14 21:01:28

That stupid Churchill dog and those irritating meerkats, but above all the cynical use of media personalities to promote products they have probably never heard of and never used themselves.

Katek Tue 07-Oct-14 20:31:24

Thought she'd gone off to Venice "with the girls"!
