Adverts I hate

There are nay adverts that bug me, but my current top of the list is the Knor stock pots one, he asks "is this beef local" the reply "Yes, it comes just 70 mile away" is ridiculous. We live on the East Coast, 70 miles could include France/Holland etc. For anyone living in the Midlands it would include much of England. My local Tesco can at least get meat/veg from the same county.

What gets your goat?

I love the Specsavers ads too, particularly when the elderly couple sit down to rest their legs and eat their sarnies ... next minute their hurling round the roller-coaster. I have an awful idea that could happen to us one day. And the couple who think they're on a cross channel ferry when they're actually on an aircraft carrier.

The one that's really p....ing me off right now is the smug woman on the Warners holiday adverts. I think 'Colin' will be digging a hole under the patio any day now....and who could blame him?

The SpecSavers ads make me chuckle, especially the one with the cat with no pulse. But then, I'm a simple soul, easily pleased!

Yes probably on Sky.

Speaking about great ones (which we are not!) I used to love the Cadbury's Smash ones with the Daleks.

Yes Secret Escapes adverts are infuriating - but my best 'unfavourite' remains that slimey woman talking about hot pants and 'back in the day'. Ugh. Ooh and ... Wonga adverts!

Kiora hope you slept well smile. I've remembered now the advert was for Levi trousers.

The advert I hate the most is the Secret Escapes one when that stupid woman keeps whispering "shush shush secret escapes" I feel like throttling her

Kiora Wed 01-Oct-14 22:09:17

nankate on that lovely last note I'll take myself off to bed

NanKate Wed 01-Oct-14 21:36:38

Any advert for cereals where youngsters are shovelling the food into their mouths with the spoon at an odd angle. Bad table manners irritate me beyond words.

Do you remember the fab ad from the 1970s where some handsome young man was disrobing in the laundrette to the music 'I heard on the grapevine'. They don't make them like that anymore.

Ana Wed 01-Oct-14 21:33:46

Are those adverts on Sky, specki? I don't think I've seen any of them...confused

specki4eyes Wed 01-Oct-14 21:26:12

I can't reach fast enough for the remote when that odious simpering woman starts making a Moonpig card saying "Hotpants! - back in the day!" - ugh, it makes me quite nauseous.

Another one is the desperate women on exercise bikes pedalling furiously to create naked male strippers..how blatantly sexist is that? If the tables were turned and it depicted female strippers, there would be an outcry!

Then there are the Wowcher adverts - don't know what they're advertising because I have to mute the tv.

And as for Hotel Trivago ........those adverts are enough to make you want to stay at home.

Ikea ones are clever - I like them.

NfkDumpling Wed 01-Oct-14 20:24:19

I thought I was the only one who hated Coke - unless well laced with rum.

Ana Wed 01-Oct-14 18:29:57

Yes, and none of them a day over 40! angry

Plus, do they really expect us to believe none of them ever looked at themselves for a whole month...? Pathetic.

Kiora Wed 01-Oct-14 18:03:40

I hate the new No7 advert with absolute avengence. I have to leave the room. All those stupid crying women who think they are having a terrible time without mirrors I think its patronising

Polygran Mon 29-Sept-14 06:11:27

The odd advert is clever and witty ut. Ost are dreadful. My pet hate is the volume which is so much louder than the programs, this affects my sensitive ears and wakes up OH if he is dozing through something I am watching. I think the sound volume balance should be regulated

FloweroftheWest I like Lidl as well, and Aldi. Its just the advert I don't like. I don't get why they are selling Lidl food in a market. I do like the silly Aldi ads though.

I do look forward to the John Lewis Christmas adverts, and usually enjoy them. We don't have a store locally, so they don't encourage me to shop there.

Tegan Sun 28-Sept-14 19:43:29

Me too [except, for some reason, when it's a couple of days old and flat and I'm feeling very thirsty]. As for what's in it, combined with the market it's aimed at angry.....

rockgran Sun 28-Sept-14 19:23:07

Coca cola do great adverts but I hate the stuff.

Tegan Sun 28-Sept-14 18:40:17

......I hadn't noticed the reference to 70 miles in the stock advert; it really annoys me now angry.....[why did the mention it at all??]

I just love this advert....

goldengirl Sun 28-Sept-14 18:22:36

Bring back the coca cola advert with the women in the office and the hunk outside!

HollyDaze Sun 28-Sept-14 15:38:31

Just has me reaching for my taser.

I've often wished they were legal here. What about a cattle prod? Would we get away with that?

rosequartz Sun 28-Sept-14 13:45:25

papa grin

papaoscar Sun 28-Sept-14 12:22:30

Old Ray Winstone, shrugging his shoulders and growling in that menacing gangster-style voice - bet, you plonkers, or I'll send the boys raand! Do itttt! What marketing genius thought up that load of tripe? Just has me reaching for my taser.

Flowerofthewest Sun 28-Sept-14 09:47:45

But grandma60 Lidl food is cheap and good quality. Can't wait for our Lidl to open it's new large store which is being built now. Roll on November.

grandma60 Sun 28-Sept-14 08:48:25

The one in a market with friendly stall holders and happy customers gushing about how fresh the food is and so cheap. It is then revealed that it is all from Lidl!
