Hi...Thank you ladies (and gents) for the lovely welcome to Gransnet. JessM...you are right I have some welsh blood in me...my Mum is from Swansea...but very proud of my Welsh hertitage
Hi Marelli...congratulations. Your grandson is only 3 weeks, give it time, it's very new to you son and DIL. Just keep in contact with them and they will soon learn to appreciate and trust another adult who is keen to be involved.
Congratulations, mamgu. Isn't it amazing what our emotions do when a grandchild arrives! But just think, if it does that to us, it must be ten times as much for the mum. Precious times. Enjoy
Hi Marelli...Thank you for your congratulations and thank you for replying...its lovely. Had a quick peek at your profile and what a glamorous Gt Gran you are...how do you do it??? My parents and my MIL have also become first time Gt Grandparents too
Hello Mamgu758, nice to meet you, and congratulations on becoming a grandma . I think you'll find Gransnet will be a real help to you about how you're feeling and all the jumble of emotions that will be hitting you and and your son's partner. Looking forward to seeing more of your posts.
I just want to say a big hello to everyone on Gransnet. I am so pleased to find this site. Im a first time Grandma to a gorgeous little boy of 3 weeks. My emotions have been all over the place since he has been born. The baby is my son's and his partner. Obviously I am now the MIL figure but after reading the forums Mums and daughters have difficulties too. I know its early days but my son's partner has been a bit possessive over the baby so far but I am really trying to be understanding. Hopefully things will settle down in time. smile
