My second grandaughter gave birth safely last Tuesday on her due date to a lovely little boy I have not seen him yet but can't wait. He weighed 7lbs 4oz the same birth weight as DS2 who is his grandfather!. Boast boast boast.
Congratulations pink My eldest DGD is 20 and I am hoping that she isnt thinking babies yet, I was Grandma at 38 so dont want to be a young Great Grandma just yet
Thankyou everyone My DGD and her partner have just visited us tonight with their new baby and he is really lovely. My DS2 thinks at 42 he is too young to be a grandfather but I reminded him that he became a father at 19 so his children are starting to have children now! My mother had 16 great grandchildren but the sad thing was that due to her dementia she never recognised any of them. I Sam going to make the most of this lovely little boy.
I have at least 3 grandchildren old enough to make me a great gran, but none are in a hurry to do so. When our 2nd daughter had her first baby, we had a 4 generation photo, my mother, me, daughter and granddaughter. I want another one now, with ME as the oldest one!
Congratulations to all the happy family, pink. My GD says she will make me a GGM by the time she is 25! She will be 23 in 8 weeks and isn't 'seeing' anyone at the moment so will have to get a move on.
I was a first time Gran at 61 so chances of being a GG are remote, so congratulations to all who have. So gratifying to meet another generation and to see dearly loved GC have children of their own.
Congratulations pinkprincess. Like hildajenniJ it is an experience I am unlikely to have. My DC were born in my late 20s and DS didn't have children until his late 30s. My DF became a great grandfather at 92, six months before he died.
pinkprincess, that's lovely! Congratulations . I was made a Great-Grandma 4 years ago (at the age of 60) ! When I pick the wee lad up from the nursery and he races across to me yelling 'Great-Grandma!!!' I feel so proud!
I don't think I'll manage to be a great granny as I didn't start my family until I was in my 30's. My own Mother was delighted to have great grandchildren and lived to see all of them.
